Product Description

The only display to win both Display of the Year honors in the Design of the Times and POPAI’s OMA contest, Microsoft’s kiosk program, which came in different sizes, helped many stores sell out of its Xbox 360 in late 2005. The kiosk helped create that demand, hitting stores before the product launched to excite consumers. Delivered simultaneously worldwide, the displays were designed for use in North America, Latin America, Europe, Australia and Asia.

The kiosk, which could be adjusted to sit on a shelf or on the floor, allowed shoppers to download content and use personal audio jacks to enhance the in-store experience.

The shape, color scheme and overall design of the unit, produced by Design Phase Inc., mimicked the actual Xbox 360 console and had a consistent look to the array of other in-store pieces that splashed with this dynamic launch.
